Coming Around came from a quiet place — the kind that only comes when you stop pushing and let the work move through you instead. The colors chose themselves, soft and warm, and the forms followed the natural spiral that exists in everything from a nautilus shell to the way light moves across water. There is a mathematics to beauty and sometimes you feel it more than you see it.
I wanted Coming Around to carry the feeling of meditation — that sweet stillness where the noise drops away and something true rises up to meet you. The circular path the eye follows through this painting is the same path the mind takes when it finally gets quiet enough to hear itself.
My hope is that when you find this painting it slows you down just enough. That it reminds you that the things you’ve been turning over — the worries, the questions, the things unresolved — have a way of coming around to clarity when you get still enough to let them.
