In Low Tide I wanted to capture that particular time of morning when color is still soft — not yet fully saturated, not yet demanding anything of you. The busy day ahead is held at bay for just a little longer.
The palette came naturally — corals and turquoise that reminded me of lazy vacation mornings, coffee in hand, watching the world slowly wake up.
The wet sand and the pelican's reflection were repainted more times than I'd like to admit. A good reminder that the things that seem like they should come easily are often the ones that ask the most of us.
I hope when you look at this painting you feel what I felt making it — that quiet morning promise that all is well. That you, like this pelican, are exactly where you need to be.
24 × 30 inches on stretched gallery wrapped canvas. Hanging hardware attached and it’s ready to hang in your space.
